You're a terrible poet, but I get your point.
Dragonmaster Kurai 2006-06-29 . chapter 1
Like it a lot! Not dripped in the overly patriotic goo you dip your other stuff in, this is actually really good. rythm nice, not forced! You keep writing like this and you'll put T.S.Elliot out of buisness! ;)cyaDK

I fully support our soilders, although not our president for his lack of brains. However that is beside the point.
I really liked this poem and I don't think our soilders should even be over there in the first place. But that is just my opnion. However, this is a nice simple poem that was well written for it's style.

Keep writing,

All The Three Queens 2003-08-27 . chapter 1
While I have a few misgivings about some of the phrases in this ("The world is safer because of you"...), I do have to say that this is a good piece. I know a soldier who was over in Iraq, and the parts about us never really knowing what he went through ring very true.
Moril 2003-08-23 . chapter 1
Some called the President a liar because he is!

I assume that "putting an end to the Iraqis' cries" means killing them, because that was done. You watch American news, don't you? CNN, Fox, ABC, NBC... they're all the same.

Anyway, I have no intention of starting a war of reviews like what you apparently have with "seravisad." But I disagree with this poem.

Politics aside, your couplets are good, but there should be an apostrophe in "Iraqis'".
serasivad 2003-08-07 . chapter 1
In a review of the poem "Rose, Daisy, Forget-Me-Not" by IsabellaScathachElf which mentioned Vietnam, I reviewed saying:

"Only 4 percent of the lives lost in Vietnam were American. The majority were Vietnamese women, children and elderly.

Get over it."

And YOU reviewed saying:

"Hey nice patriotic poem...and don't worry about serasivad she's an idiot."

That's a definite possibility.

However it is a fact that I haven't once said something I can't back up whereas you seem to have made that your trademark.

So hnmn...how does it feel to not measure up to an idiot?

"She throws that fact out on pretty much any review I have seen of hers."

I THROW it?!

I do no such thing.

A thesaurus is NOT the enemy baby doll.

Feel free to use one.

Any time now.

"The fact is that 58,0 Americans died in Vietnam (and there were tons of POWs and still many MIA) and I don't care what percentage that is it is a lot of people."

That IS a lot of people alright.

And Americans STILL only constituted four percent of the lives lost.

Now do the math and figure out the Vietnamese number of life lost.

Assuming you can count that high.

"One of serasivad's principles is that she hates anyone who protects her"

PROTECTS me?!

Who has been protecting me?! From what? From who?

You must tell me their name so I can thank them for their consideration before asking them who the hell told them to PROTECT me.

Can't have anybody recklessly running about protecting people without their consent.

"and she hates anyone who appreciates our freedoms"

I myself appreciate a great many things in life.

Thai food, Liszt concertos, Raekwon, and knee-high hooker boots for example.

I certainly wouldn't presume to look down on someone for having an equal appreciation of the joys of life.

I reviewed an extremely poorly written poem named "She Is Called Old Glory" by HayleyHedwig11 saying:

"That was mind-blowingly horrific."

and then you proceeded to review stating:

"What a surprise! Whenever you see something patriotic, you see servasad there putting it down."

Actually doll, you are incorrect. Again.

Now THAT is what I call a surprise.

*rolls eyes*

I reviewed patriotic poems by both Christina Miller and craziegal112 (among others) without putting them down.

I did notice however, that you didn't exactly rave about her writing yourself you cute lil hypocrite you.

I would suggest you shoot yourself but that would be a waste of a perfectly good bullet.
Inoperative 2003-08-06 . chapter 1
i didn't really like it...in quiet a few aspects it was rather primitive -

basically with the rhyming, when writing a poem a good way to go about it is to not think of rhyming words...just write, meaning should come before rhyming in my books...not every poem has to rhyme. though there are many skilled poets who can pull off a cohesive rhyming poem and look good while doing it...i'm sorry to say you aren't one of them... i'm seriously not try to bag you out, just offer some advice... i respect what you were saying throughout the poem, but really it just sounded like meaningless words thrown on a page that rhymed... keep writing though, i don't want to discourage you or anything, you could be really good, so keep writing :D

i'm really sorry if this sounds like i'm bagging you out...i'm just trying to offer constructive critism...thanks :)

A agree completely. I'm going to send this to my cousin in Iraqui. I'm sure he'll appreciate it.
lili brik 2003-08-03 . chapter 1
Oh my...well, I can't say I hate the troops...I just think they've been misled. I wouldn't want any to die, surely, but your poem is truly laughable. Want to know why?

Well, firstly, I wonder how the war on Iraq threatened your freedom? Was Saddam Hussein really threatening that by any means? Oh, which leads me to my next point--"The man some called a liar"? He is a liar--he admitted that much himself--the nukes, the yellowcake, the weapons of mass destruction? THe evidence was cooked! Even he said so! How does that not make him a liar? Because he was honest about being a liar?

"You had to kill to save lives"--ooh, more nice civilian deaths? And now what's going on? Chaos? Yes, and more soldiers dying for no apparent cause? How thankful you are, to be proud they sacrificed their lives in vain--and proud that they are still there, dying for a pointless cause!

I'm pretty sure that the Iraqis are still cry8ing, and so are the soldiers as they keep on dying pointlessly--is the world really safer? New intelligence shows that the WMDs were all destroyed anyway. Hmm, but now there is a choatic power vacuum in the Middle East and more American men dying! Wow, how...safe. I'm sure the soldiers are really happy that you condoned their method of death...
Solid Snake 2003-08-01 . chapter 1
Damn right. I'm sick of anti-patriotism on this site. Thank heaven that decent Americans run the polls, otherwise, we'd be screwed. The American soldiers are the greatest soldiers on earth, who, under extreme critisism, are defending the very people who criticize them. I've said it once, and I'll say it again: people who diss on US soldiers are just pansies who are too afraid to take a bullet for their country.

Great poem.
Shayne Edwin 2003-07-24 . chapter 1
I'm not commenting on this poem...although I should I think the best way to thank at least half the American soldiers occupying Iraq would be to let them leave...dissent fills the air amongst the highest ranking soldiers in Iraq, and the commanding officers are now having trouble keeping their 'negative' opinions about Bush and the war under wraps...but oh well. I just wanted to comment on the e-mail you sent me...you definitely called me 'stupid'...wow...I'm sorry you had to resort to name calling...obviously you aren't fit for argument and debate. You liked quotes a lot I take it? Then have a read at this..."People generally quarrel because they cannot argue." -- Gilbert K. Chesterton...so maybe next time you'll try and have a debate or argument when you disagree with my opinions, rather than call me 'stupid'...have a good one.
Isabella MacElfrish 2003-07-13 . chapter 1
HOOAH! This is great! I LOVE this poem. It means a lot to me, coming from a strong military family. Thank you for writing this, and for showing such appreciation to our toops. I don't care what ANYONE says, they are among the best and deserve our thanks, appreciation and respect. No one will ever convince me otherwise. They ARE the ones who bring us our Freedom. Withouth them, it's doubtful this site would exist or that we would be writing. THEY are the ones who protect our first Amendment right to free speech. Thanks for using it to thank them. Keep writing!
