Kitsu Kusanagi 2005-04-24 . chapter 3Wow. And I thought Sarra was gonna be a permenant character too. And I don't think I've ever seen a character more bipolar since Kenshin. You might wanna try working on that attitude. ^^;; I'm trying to be constructive here. |
Infamous Bamf 2005-02-25 . chapter 39*thumbs up* A great start to a great battle. What's the deal with those two brave crop guys? They reminded of Gravos and Jullian from Slayers Try for some reason. It's probably because of the way they're acting.

Blade Dragoon 2005-02-11 . chapter 38 (Insert Loud, uncontrolled laughter here)
That was Hilarious. This story is great and I have but 3 more words to say. Keep It up.
P.S. THis is the only review you're going to get from me. |
Chamzel 2005-02-05 . chapter 38Well Bamf, that's not a "grammar error", that's actually a "WTF happened when I copied it from the original document??"
Yes, my friends, that little tidbit screw up was not in the original document what so ever, and whenever I tried to copy that line of text and paste it in, that's what came up. So I had to manually delete and retype it. At least its fixed now. =D |
Infamous Bamf 2005-02-05 . chapter 38Damn, man, I bet you lied about Ro-Ten not coming back for a while to throw me off. Still, that was awesome he came up with an impressive power upgrade.
Here's a thought: is there a way to remove obtained cores from a guardian? I'm guessing Ro-Ten's may be defeated with the removal of the Hell Guardian's core.
I liked that bawdy sendoff to pokemon at the end of the chapter.
grammar alert:He gazed down at Joel, admiring him in a certain way.h his foot high up. He he ball, "ting it, "his?"r His dark skin was giving him a more evil appearance with the glowing embers emitting from his long, jagged red hair surrounding him.
Prehaps you should've read through this carefully again before posting I have no idea what you were trying to say with the "he he ball" thing. I'm hoping you'll give this one some attention so that your future readers won't be confused by it as well.
I remember seeing a picture of a kid with a cape around his neck on your site a long time ago, but I never thought he could be the water guardian at the time.
Anyway, Alan appears to be an underdeveloped guardian. If Joel and Ryan had more time, prehaps he could've contributed to the battle with Ro-Ten.
Well, that's my two cents for this chapter. |
Kitsu Kusanagi 2005-02-05 . chapter 1The one thing I like about this story is that it's got structure. That's very important to have in a story. However, the fact that Joel learned to speak instantly seems a little suspicious to me. And you certainly have a lot to explain. But I think I still gotta read some before I say anything. I'll review again once I read more. You've got a good thing going here. I think I would enjoy this story if it were made into a manga. I hope you get it published. |
Infamous Bamf 2005-02-01 . chapter 37All right, I'm caught up! So is Celia still sick or what? She doesn't seem too sick to receive training from David. Meanwhile, Koichi goes into training once more, but I have no idea if he can ever beat David. For all I know, David might not unleash his full power on Koichi for Celia's sake. I liked how you put parts of the fight with David throughout the chapter. It makes for more fascinating storyline. Well, until the next chapter is out... |
Infamous Bamf 2005-02-01 . chapter 36Other than the guardian of the tower, what kind of guardian is David? I'm guessing it might have something to do with wind since he can run so fast. I have a feeling that Koichi may fare poorly against David. I'm basing on this current track record with guardian battles. Oh, one more thing, it's nice to find out more about the past and learn about Celia's guardian name. Heh, what do you know, Celia is a nature guardian. That's cool. |
Infamous Bamf 2005-01-25 . chapter 35Damn, I've noticed nobody has reviewed past chapter 34. Anyway, I started getting the feel Ro-Ten would recover quickly, end up in a fight with Koichi, and run away. Celia is beginning to act like more and more like Lynn in each chapter and acting a lot less gentle than she used to be. Anyway, I wonder if Ro-Ten might end up with that ice guy? I'm wondering this because you mentioned months earlies that he might have a posse of other guardians by his side. |
Infamous Bamf 2005-01-21 . chapter 34*cue sad or serene sounding J-pop music to indicate end of episode*
I put that there since you ended the chapter with a narrator closing the episode and asking what will happen next time.
Damn, it took me longer than I thought to reread all of those episodes! Well, now that I'm encountering chapters that I haven't read yet, I might as well start reviewing again. I see Ro'Ten is back in the story, but will he just act like another Joel or will he remember everything and start going on a killing spree again? I can imagine some minions of the Monster King wanting to capture Ro'Ten and put him through some sort of process to quickly remember everything. I suppose the guy will be harder to kill now if that's the case (I recall Guardians do become stronger every time they come back from the dead). Koichi and Celia sure acted different from usual. What is up with Celia's sickness anyway? Will the sickness end with her going through a power surge? I have a feeling she isn't living up to her full potential and might be after the sickness passes. Anyway, I've enjoyed this chapter. I might have to reread parts of the chapter where Ro'Ten died because I don't remember much of that battle. |
Ephemeral Seraphim 2004-12-10 . chapter 4Now this is really good. You know, this story has a wonderful blend of modern society along with some of the more ancient and medievel customs. This almost reminds me of an RPG or something like that (a good thing, too, because I love RPGs) Anyway, good character exploration here, and of course, that trademark humor that is destined to be classic. Ah, so Joel has a perverted sense of humor as well *smirks* There are even more new characters here, and bigger and bolder adventures from the last time. Your story keeps on getting better and better, if that's even possible. This is one of the best of the best. Celia and Koichi seem to be a rather interesting lot here. I still love Joel, but I think I like Koichi as well, since he's so action-oriented. Anyway, good writing style, great everything. Of course, the descriptions are top-notch as usual, and I got a sense of realism while delving in this fantastic world of yours. The character portrayals were beautiful as well, and when the story progresses on, the mysteries and complexities of Joel's character deepen. Just who exactly is he? That is a question I'm hoping to find out pretty soon. Joel is really a multi-faceted character, and your portrayal of him is fantastic. The fight scenes are also well-written, and you've got plenty of action that wouldn't disappoint fans of hardcore action, such as DragonBallZ or something like that. The one thing that keeps on nagging me in the back of the head is this: what is going to happen next? You do very well with writing, and the suspense is killing me. Besides the action scenes, there are also poignant and memorable scenes between the characters that will make the reader sit back in his chair and say "aw". This story definitely has it all. Your one of the writing talents, and if people were seeking out someone as good as you, they would have a hard time pinning someone down. This story can only be concieved and envisioned by the one and only Chamzel. Do keep up the excellent work, and I'll try to read more of this over the week. Once again, excellent job, and now I know I can expect nothing less except pure perfection for your works.

Ephemeral Seraphim 2004-12-10 . chapter 3Ah, another wonderfully written chapter. First of all, I think the scenes were definitely well-portrayed here, with Joel's dream about him and Sarralyn being married together, but it was also frightful as well, with Tim. You know how to manipulate your reader's emotions, and I found myself experiencing a whole array of them, some of them ones I couldn't even identify. Also, you have a knack for good character portrayals, and the newest character additions in this wonderful tale is the wolf-man and Bulforg. Bulforg is definitely my favorite, and for some reason, he reminds me of Patrick Star from SpongeBob Squarepants...don't ask why, but he does. Anyway, this fic has everything in it that a reader can ask for. Good characters, riveting plot, it has it all. Also, I see you've managed to put a pinch of romance, humor, and heartstopping action scenes. I think Joel and Sarralyn together sounds very cute. Also, Joel seems to be a very complex character. At one point, he is a reasonable and rather easygoing person, but when somebody does something to upset him, he can really turn cold and almost merciless. But that makes him a deeper and more enhanced character. I loved the fight scenes you've written, you've got a natural born talent to write them. The adrenaline is still running in my veins from them. You got me hooked on your writing. This is definitely one of the best I've read on Fictionpress, and I think that this story is worthy of everybody's attention. Wonderful, simply wonderful. I believe that there is nothing more within my eloquence to describe how I truly feel about this fic.

Ephemeral Seraphim 2004-12-10 . chapter 2Oh wow. This is a great story that you've got coming along here, and it is a shame that I haven't reviewed this sooner. First of all, I've got a lot of good things to tell you about this story. To start things out, the dialogue was well played and certainly entrancing for me to read. It sounded exactly like something somebody would say in all those situations, and this thus enhances the wonderful realism and parallelism to our own world, which makes the story all the more special. Anyways, the character interactions and relationships are extremely intriguing, and I also like the way you play out Joel's emotions during certain situations. The way he has to cope with his lost memories is breathtaking, and only a skilled author such as yourself can portray this kind of character with such ease and fluid grace, with a deep understanding on who he truly is. You've stunned me into silence with your words, powerful prose, and all around artistic vision of something with epical proportions. Most of the things that Joel says are cute, and I think that most people can identify with Joel because he's one of the most well-rounded, three-dimensional (sometimes four-dimensional...wait, did that even make sense?!) characters. That's the one thing that your story has that most other stories on Fictionpress don't. Mostly, I see stories that focus on the plot, but they don't focus on the characters enough. However, you have a fantastic blend of nice wordplay, an awesome cast of characters, and also a riveting plot that has the reader yearn for more. Your work is like a literary roller coaster...it has its ups and downs, but all the way through, it has all-stop thrills that gives the reader a wonderful feeling. I also like the introduction of these new characters, and I'm curious to see their role in the story later on. Haha, the allusion to Romeo and Juliet was extremely clever. I'm sorry, I tend to like things like that. Allusions are something that enhance your story, and will make your reader identify with the story even more. Once again, you've managed to pull off a fantastic chapter that never fails to spark the reader's imagination. Pure perfection, to put it simply.
