Beautiful poem. You created some very powerful, vivid imagery. Indeed, I am one of those poor souls who have never seen the Northern Lights so thankyou for this. I have only seen it in photos, which isn't the same, and so I am determined to see them for real one day. Keep up the great work :)

wow, just reading this poem makes me want to see the beauty of the northern lights even more *sigh* but alas i am depressingly poor and trapped by water...gr...moving on now...

this was such a beautiful poem, especially with the personification in the first stanza it really was a WONDERFUL way to start of such a lovely poem, and it really did feel like what you were describing was alive with an energy of its own...what cmae to my mind was like a concert of stars.
the contrst of the second stanza to the first was very dramatic, it was like the images in my mind just suddenly came to an abrupt halt, very eerie and left me mildly cold and alone, lol - jsut call me a drama queen. it was on a whole beautiful and i felt really privledged to read it purely because it was like you brought the northern stars to me. thankyou, this was amazing, kudos.

oh and my fav lines would hvae to be
"all of nature is silent and still
bowing out for the final number"
you really use personification to its full advantage in this piece, i was very amazed.

Lovely piece of work-very musical, it makes you want to sway along with the dancing aurora borealis...

Day to Day 2003-07-26 . chapter 1
Your stuff is great! I especially liked: "the aurora borealis dances on
the princess of color and light
sleeping late in the mist by day
and coming out to dance at midnight"

The only thing that I would suggest would be to think about taking out some of the filler words like "and" that you seem to use at the ends of the stanzas. Keep writing!

ah yes, i completely agree with you that the Aurora Borealis is indeed one of the highest (if not the crowning) soul-moving beauties of nature. normally i would also have to agree with you that it is beyond words to describe its beauty, but this poem is (to quote the word i LEARNED from you) transcendent. i love absolutely every aspect of it, especially the music and the dancing. such beautiful and appropriate touches! i was utterly swept away. i read through it once, then looked up a whole bunch of pictures on the internet, then read it again and i must say the combination was exquisitely enchanting. which is not to say that the piece doesn't absolutely *SING* on its own, i can almost hear it in my head sung by some kind of ancient bard playing on a harp. the end of it even gave me chills. i have to say that the first stanza is my favorite one of the poem (again, the musical aspect fits it like a glove ~ had me spellbound in an instant, and it set the mood oh-so-well). as for favorite lines, they would be: "the fluttering, fading bass notes," "the clouds hold back their thunder," "sleeping late in the mist by day," and "as they pulse in a glorious rebirth." 'tis a glorious poem indeed, without a doubt worthy of its inspiration. my most profound apologies for taking such an eternity to read and review it! obviously it was my loss. *sigh* i'll send you my most favoritest pic of the Aurora to make up for it, k? ;) phenomenal job on this. kudos!
