Werecat99 2003-10-10 . chapter 3 Warnings, baits, whatever. No better medicine for my flu.
Do I sense the legasy of Oedipus in this? Not that I mind; rather the opposite. And I loved his translation, hehe.
I liked that. Is it weird that I didn't find it twisted? Tragic, yes. But I'm still not sure about twisted. Of course, since I've grown up with the ancient Greek tragedies, this is familiar ground.
Anyway, it was good to see the war -or some aspects of it- through a different POV than this of the Elwens. And I hope we'll see more of him in the future.
A question, though: I've read in your other stories that Elwens traditionally take one lover in their lives. Did this mean that they only fall in love once and occasional passionate encounters are more common? Sailagh's father surprised me with his chosing of a human female for a mate. I'd like some clarifications on this aspect of their lives. Preferably in a story, hehe. |
Werecat99 2003-09-03 . chapter 2I really liked the interaction between Moroderl (how is that pronounced?) and the dragon. I'm glad that there was a difference in perspective, given the difference in species. Same goes for Ashenrin and Moroderl(boy, that's a tricky name).
Ah, humans. Always inclined to foolishness, methinks.
And I was deeply moved by the dragon's torment. But at least he held on his pride until the last moment. However, when his mate finds out, I don't want to be in those humans' place...
It was fitting for him to change his name. I didn't like the old one anyway. And I certainly hope that we will see more about him.
PS
Thanks for the reviews. One clarification at the moment: During Aurion's flashback memory, Nefertarin was not that young, but about seventeen yrs old. Not really a child. |
 BbHtrYoink 2003-08-20 . chapter 1Wow. Powerful.
But Elwens are Elwens, nothing more, nothing less. I understand Eleriad's devotion to her husband and to her war, as well as any human can understand an Elwen.
Just one major flaw, though. Change the "man" in the second-to-last sentance to "Elwen." That is all.
Of course, great job. I never expected anything less. |
 A. Lee 2003-08-20 . chapter 1I think I can safely say that this, perhaps, is the first indication that Lady Eleriad isn't perfect. This just proves that heroes aren't always what they seem to be.

Werecat99 2003-08-19 . chapter 1Sigh... Now have to go study those other stories before I can continue reading this...
*humans do not let their women fight*. Typical. Why am I not surprised about this? Same goes for the entire POV of the humans. And their stupid ways...
Of course, I just loved Eleriad's revenge. Bloody and fitting to the crime. Oh, "Hell hath no fury..."
Loved it, of course. |
