Terra is another name for earth; therefore, 'Terran' means from Terra (Earth.) That operates on the same basis as 'Earthling' (from Earth.) So what would a Terran be if they lived on Mars? If you want to go by where they live, it's a Martian- just as a person living on Terra is a Terran. I cannot stand the term 'Terran.' I am NOT a Terran, I'm a HUMAN.

OK, I'm done. Sorry that you had to suffer that.

Anyway, it's a good story, and I'll read more.

Interesting story, but there's something I just have to point out. Everyone seems to make the mistake of calling us "Earthlings". We are not! We are either Humans or Terran. 'Earth' is not a planet. It is the solid aspect of one. That means dirt and such. Earthling is not a species. If we were Earthlings, then what would we be called if we colonized another planet?
Anyway--and I think I already said this--good job so far.

Very interesting. I like your vivid descriptions of the characters. Would love to read why Tyla's nervous...
