Wow, this was quite a nice character sketch, seeing as I've not read the book! What drew me to it was that my boyfriend is reading this story and I was quite curious. But now I find myself wanting to read this...hmm... good job indeed ^_^

Descriptive. I remember reading Chaucer in high school, but it was translated to modern english. Than I almost took a Chaucer class last semester, and it was in old english! It was a good look at the miller.

Have you watched the recent re-make of the Miller's tale on the BBC? it's really good. There doing a whole load of the Cantebury tales 'retold for our times' Very very good, watch it.

Are you doing AS English? We're doing The Miller's Tale in middle English too! Isn't it evil? The bit about his "werte" makes me cringe.

We were told NOT to read an up-to-date version, or to watch the modern version that was on last Thursday, because it won't help at all, and apparently it's "fun". Okay, Mrs. English tutor, whatever you say.

Thanks for reviewing my boring paragraph. We are reading it in it's original form, and translating it ourselves. But I took out a really recent translation, and it's actually a very entertaining story. Have fun.
