This was not what I was expecting, but I do believe you achieved your end goal. This is more real than most of what is portrayed in stories nowadays, and the subtle nuances of unsaid truths were very pleasant to pick up on.

The warts and hair were kinda gross, but you got it right about how couples want to apologize but don't, and still try to get revenge.

You're right, definitely more realistic than the average overromantic story (not that I never wrote romance before, but the simplicity of some stories can definitely be annoying).
Maybe you could turn it into a real story, now it is just a scene, but this is just a random suggestion.

lovely. kinda gross with the warts but.. definitely lovely and a lot more realistic than "I'm sorry. I love you" "I'm sorry too. *kiss kiss*" and then the inevitable bloody boring make-up sex. *rolls eyes* hoo-rah for your story, it's more like real life! yay!
