That was pretty good. If you could make it flow more then it would be a lot better, but you have a good thing going. I'm obsessed with LotR as well! Is your name based on the wonderful literature of David Eddings? I must know!!

just being me, i yern to put a happy ending on. I know your talking about hope, but it sound's as if it's all in vain. The war looks lost already. But it is a great poem, of which people with think about and analize ^_~

A tad awkward in terms of phrasing and has potential for a great ending... keep at it!
