Have to love the words "sheer desperation", though. I don't know exactly why, but I do. You have little witty words/comments dropped here and there. I love your sense of humor when it comes to writing. Is the lack of indentation from "Dr. Benker relaxed" onwards intentionally? Knowing you, I can never be quite sure!
