Music's so expressive--it's kind of like writing. Except that all you really need for writing is your head (tone, expression, etc.) and some way to get the words on paper. Ahh, lovely arts... :D

PS - I've never really understood--what *is* the difference between a violin and a viola? (I play flute, and to be honest, they both sound the same to me.)

Loved this story, helped by the fact that I play the viola and have played the violin in the past.

Lovely descriptions, especially of the violins. But lord, I shudder to think how much an 1866 violin must cost. Anyway, this was a great story.
