aw... that was so sad... it was short, but touching. i think you really captured the feeling of a war well. how the confederate explained somethings to the young union soldier was done wonderfully too. great job

This was one of those almost-crying fics. Because, fics never make me cry, but this is one that came very close. I admit, it didn't have much going on, and it was pretty predictable, but that didn't make it any less sad. It was touching beyond belief, and this scenario always will be. The descriptions were good, also: they painted a good picture without taking over the entire narrative. They were so smooth that they didn't really alert the reader of their presence, just tell us what was going on. I really loved this, I only wish it had been longer. Please keep writing.
