Oh, cool! Kind of creepy, really. I feel sorry for the little girls. I have a sister a little younger than Mary, but she's the type who falls out of trees a lot. Maybe that's why this is so creepy.

Ah...I love the bitter tone of this. Though of course, I'm all for people acting less like pigs and monkeys and more like *people,* the ridiculous social rules adopted by the upper (though sometimes lower, too) classes in the past can reach the level of ridiculousness. *nods at poem* Case in point. Excellent, excellent depiction.
