Calliope Foster 2005-07-09 . chapter 1
Well make me cry, will you!! Wonderful. Absolutely lovely.
Lady E 2005-01-29 . chapter 1
oh... This is brilliant. I love it, I love it! A perfect portrayal of the hideous "Great" War. It really brings to life a lot of the stuff we read in history textbooks. What a...sadly realistic ending... You've expressed the horrors of war so so well. This is just brilliant.
Eleanor Gibson 2004-11-21 . chapter 1
hey! I liked this. Well written, seems very real to me, great imagination you have there. I could just imagaine the Private sitting there in some God-forsaken trench writing this letter to his father. You depicted the feelings of this character very well *nods*. This was quite enjoyable.-Rae
Silence the Mirror 2004-01-13 . chapter 1
This is fiction?!?! My goodness, how terribly real. So... much... emotion. Do you know how to write or what. One word. Wow.
Shattered Illusions 2003-11-25 . chapter 1
Wow...very powerful letter. I don't exactly have the knowledge to tell how historically accurate it is, but it sounds very real. Very well done.
JackDavis 2003-11-19 . chapter 1
shouldn't "dying painlessly and mercilessly" be dying painlessly and merciFULLY?

This was very moving, and frighteningly realistic to actual letters. A lot of people criticize the french for falling to germany so quickly, but the truth is that the average height of the french dropped because so many of their healthy males were killed.
