Yes, the ending is quite unexpected.
And the rhyming and flow is pretty good in this poem. Doesn't really sound forced, though I am kinda getting tired of seeing "fears" and "tears" rhymed along with "you" and "true" Oh, well, there are only so many words in the English dictionary. I can only imagine how long it took to make it so! *shudder* Rhyming for me is extremely hard.
