zelle 2003-12-08 . chapter 5"Deciding to remain silent, her life a mystery
Known only by jazz"
No words needed, man. Tis great.
Heh. Sorry for this extreme lack of good review. I just spent the last hour or so scouring the house for my history book...only to find that it was under the binder on my desk all along. :P.
But, really, had I coherency, I'd praise your lovely choices in wording ("unbuttoning her broken heart") and so on...and so forth. ^_^. |
 Starlight Maiden 2003-12-08 . chapter 9Aww I'm sad now! I loved that little jazz collection...very beautiful and unique...fabulous idea. :) |
Starlight Maiden 2003-12-01 . chapter 2The Waitress is AWESOME! Uh huh, I like it very much. :) |
Jade Black 2003-11-28 . chapter 1M… I’m really loving this- though I’ve only read the first. It’s weird- this is so far up my street it’s sleeping in my bed (and no, that’s not a Lewis reference). It’s just that the suave, smooth life of Jazz is something that most people don’t see as something I like- but it’s something that I really appreciate as if it were my life force. It really reminds me of something out of a noir flick- you can feel the heady smoke floating around the ceiling like an aura… I have a strange image of Matthew Perry busting in carrying a tommy gun and dressed like Al Capone- but that’s just my warped sense of random humour. Anyway, I’ll have to read the next part the second I get the chance… and of course catch up on all the rest of your brilliant work… |
 zelle 2003-11-26 . chapter 4*at a loss for words*
Really. This is like a slow, quiet love.
I wish I had that. *whimpers*
I like this. It's kind of like an interlude in between angst, you know? Sort of optimistic. That it's not always bad.
Also loved the repetition of red wine. And I reaffirm in all the good things I said about this series before.
I'm sorry, this review is worth crap (even though this has to be my favorite out of all these). But, I'm tired. Just stayed up all night to study (literally) and I think I failed my test (or came pretty damn close to it).
But you made me feel better ^_^. I'm a little less tired and in my fuzzy place.
Tea, anyone? |
Victor Soulstorm 2003-11-25 . chapter 5Amazing, simply amazing. you have captured the souls of an entire building, and a nowhere building at that, and revealed them to all! Now give them back, tsk tsk tsk, stealng souls like that... |
 Victor Soulstorm 2003-11-25 . chapter 4still loving it |
Victor Soulstorm 2003-11-25 . chapter 3I am truly completely enjoying this set! |
 Victor Soulstorm 2003-11-25 . chapter 2tired, a bit bleak, but cool |
Victor Soulstorm 2003-11-25 . chapter 1I love it, thanks for the review. I'll try to keep it up. If only I were old enough to be let into a blues bar/jazz club... hey just a few more months! |
zelle 2003-11-23 . chapter 3Hm. This man is in need of chocolate.
Again, I love the minimalistic description (facial features, etc.) for the same reasons described last review ^_^
Also, there's a lovely contrast between the first piece and then the last two I read. Like, it seems all happy and cheerful from the outside (you know, Las Vegas lights and all that) but then when you get inside, it isn't really. Like the outside was some frail facade that comes apart with the people drawn inside.
And I like how this man says that he hates jazz, saying that his first wife was a real fan and stuff like that. It kind of makes you think that, in spite of what he says, he goes here to remember her, you know? 'Cause there should be so many other bars he could go to, but he chose THIS one.
Anyways. Loving the deep quality (even if I am looking into it too much ^_^) and exTREMEly flattered.
And I shall leave you to the mercy of your muse *bows out* |
zelle 2003-11-23 . chapter 2Wow. This actually seemed pretty mournful and sad. *sighs* the things we do for the things we enjoy.
This really touched me. And maybe I'm looking too much into this or something, but I like the way you didn't tell us what she looked like. That way, to us, she has more depth. Dig?
Like, without knowing what she looks like, her story somehow makes her more familiar. Allows us to picture what she looks like in our minds without the restrictions of rigid description. You know, "Blonde hair and five-foot-five" don't really leave alot of room for imaginative liberties. And it kind of makes her seem more distant because, to us, she may NOT seem like a blonde five-foot-five, you know? And then that makes her seem all the more foreign to us and unrecognizable.
In other words, great work ^_^. Off to read the next one. |
 zelle 2003-11-23 . chapter 1he!
So glad I FINALLY got my twit-computer to start working again. I saw the email, I jumped around the room, and then came zoomign STRAIGHT here to see it.
And here it is. *cuddles* precious... I could lick you for this magnanimous compliment. But, as you are far away and I am lazy, I won't.
Hee!
I'm in love with the atmosphere of this piece. Makes me want to go all dark poetic in all black and sit in the up-front-and-center table, ogling the sax player as he is sexy and I am single (for the moment ^_-)
And it's got the feel of two friends walking down the street. One spies this bar and whispers all this into the other's ear and they, like innocents, walk up for a closer look.
...
*cackles delightedly* |
