Reviews For: Gawain - Reviews: Page 1 of 2
Bokhi 2008-08-25 . chapter 12
Well, it would appear that this is no longer being updated, which is a pity - Gawain is one of my favorite knights of the round table (pre-Malory Gawain, anyways), and I haven't really found any stories specifically for him on this site. Other than this, that is.

Despite the various anachronisms peppered throughout your story, I find it overall, quite enjoyable - the Orkneys really do make good story fodder, and Gaheris is too-often under appreciated, woefully so.

Anyways, thanks for writing. 'Twas fun while it lasted.

wow, this story is really interesting. i've never heard of the legend of gawain before. you write really well too, great use of imagery with your words, and you set the scene reall well. sorry i haven't reviewed before now, i've been really busy. But don't give up, this story is really good!! keep up the good work!

I love Gawain, he was always one of my favorite characters in the legend. This is an awsome story. write more soon!

I'm afraid I can't give you any constructive critisim - this is one of the best stories I've ever read! I heartily agree with you that Lancelot is annoying (as is Gaheris) but I have to disagree that Gawain doesn't know how to hold his tongue.
A Keeley 2004-04-28 . chapter 10
Very good. Personally, I like the way you've written Lancelot. Can't wait to see how the rivalry progresses.

Lovely, my dear. It seems that you struggle a bit with modern language. Getting someone to read it for you might help with that. I love the way you portray Morgan. She's my favourite character. Will there be more of her?

Nice chapter. But I thing that you should know that Orkney is an island off the coast of northern Scotland. I think they would need a boat and more days than four to reach Camelot.

Huzzah! Gawain is one of my favorite Arthurian characters (after Sir Kay), and I'm very excited to be embarking upon an engaging story about him. It's excellent so far; I especially like the dialogue. Now I must keep reading!
A side note: Have you read any of the books by Gerald Morris, starting with The Squire's Tale? They're humorous versions of the Arthurian legends, with Gawain as the more-or-less central figure. Very good.
Anyway, your story is very good as well. And more chapters await...There is much rejoicing.

I love you, I love you, I love you! Gawaine (Gawain) is my absolute fave knight, and I don't see too many stories about him! Anyway, great story, you might want to add mor detail, but otherwise it's great!
~Katy
P.S. For another view on Gawaine/Gawain try Gerald Morris's (sp) The Squire's Tale.
RV Kingsbury 2004-02-04 . chapter 1
This is a great King Arthur fic. I just love Morgan and Gawain. They're so humorous and alive - usually Morgan isn't played for laughs, but comes off well in this story.

What i can't get over is how our two versions of King Arthur are so similar, down to the red hair and green eyes, and even the "crooked smile". (how strange is that, considering arthur's usually blond/brown haired?) Great minds think alike, I presume.

looking forward to reading more!

I like how this story is going so far. The first-person viewpoint is nice. I also liked Gawain's first fight as a knight. Very well done. The way you introduced Tor was also good.

I've read so many different versions of the tales of Camelot, I keep getting the fictional confused with the original. So, I'm not sure how close you were to "the way things actually happened". But it doesn't matter. I like your version.

I'm looking forward to reading more.
Mina Carlisle 2004-01-10 . chapter 5
Very good, your chapters are a bit short, but it is such a good story I could really care less!
kezya 2003-12-19 . chapter 4
Original and interesting. Good to see an Arthurian story where the focus is not on Lancelot! I'm waiting for more!
A Keeley 2003-12-19 . chapter 2
I like this...a lot. You're doing a fantastic job. Dialogue's good, characterization's awesome. Looking forward to reading more as soon as I can.

Very exciting, I loved it! I didn't find any other mistakes, I don't even think there were any typos. I can't believe you aren't getting tons of reviews, this story is great!
