This...I...this is...beautiful...much different than your usual works, though it still retains the tone of sweet, bitter melancholy so signature of you, it's harsher than your general things...(not to place a stereotype to you dear; you hardly fit into one). Anyway. ...Ah, too much to say in one tiny box. The imagery you use is impeccable; enchantingly and sorrowfully divine; the end result almost reminiscent of a burnt out star...personally I would say this transcends anything else I've read by you, actually by quite a step. (And yes, I am getting around to your fanfictions, but...craploads of personal turmoil to deal with...) To comment: what gave that indivdual the idea of early new kingdom...? Nothing in here suggests a distinct time period, (I rather liked the pretty vagueness of the entire work, when reading it one sort of feels like one is wandering through a moonlit mist, but it grows thicker, darker, more evil by the end...I don't know; I'm in a very strange mood at the moment...) though, I did wonder why you named the prince Aten, a title of one of the Gods. Actually, he was proclaimed the the sun god (and sole god of Egypt) during the reign of Akenaten- oh, THAT might've been why the person assumed a time period for the story. He did rule in the early New Kingdom, hon. Heh, perhaps you should look into things before bashing on someone. But anyway: wondrous work; I look forward to some updates in other works/new stories. (That was the polite form of UPDATE, DAMN IT!) Eheh, I'm done. ::coughs herself to death::

Ah...a little corny and cliche at the end, but still the lines "I was your refuge...am I still? etc." is very touching...overall it is a pretty good story. :-)
