I liked this very much. It's good to know that there are people who think of others. I felt both sad (because of what goes on in some families) and hopeful (because you wish the victims good).

My family used to be like that, until my parents got divorced.
I don't think that my parents were being selfish, though. I don't really think it's their fault. My dad has an anger problem, which is why he threw things at people and hit them. My mom grew up in a alchoholic dysfunctional poor family, which is probably why she married my dad. She was warned on her wedding day.
Addiction is genetic, whether you're addicted to drugs, drink, video games, or chocolate. When parents aren't being abusive, they truly love their kids. the kids know this, and that's why they don't turn their parents in.
It's a sweet wish. I'm glad you care so much about other people.

This is so touching! So very heartfelt... aw, how completely UNselfish of you to wish for something like this. I've got my problems, but I've never had problems with drinking or abuse in my family, but I know people who have problems like that... and I don't understand either how people can do that to their children, how they CAN be so selfish... ugh. This is such a touching piece... not only is it emotionally moving and so heartfelt, but it's incredibly well written on top of it. Even if it wasn't brilliantly written so that once I started reading, I was completely hooked... it'd still be the thought that counted. I hope that wish comes true.
