epicurus wrote this 2009-03-18 . chapter 1 Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? |
LOKI as I am known 2009-03-18 . chapter 1 Your mind set is beautiful in how you stand so righteously for what you believe. But I see this piece of text as I see those knights of the cross it should be accepted for its devotion but the thoughts behind it, they are bred of hate as the bible teaches hate begets more hate. Self righteous judgmental using gods name for their own protection you religious types are all the same sometimes. |
Skittlez 2005-01-23 . chapter 1 Nice, nice, tho I'm not quite sure I agree with the last bit on homosexuality. Everyone has their opinions, and I respect those opinions. I liked it, for it is simple and truthful.
Later, Skittlez :-) |
The Phoenix King 2004-06-20 . chapter 1Your Grandfather is a wise man. I am a Catholic and I agree with many things that have been said. I also don't agree with many things the Catholic Church says. This feels strangely familiar reviewing this. I suppose my last review may have been considered offensive, and I understand why. So this is a sorry from The Phoenix King!
p.s. Thank you Otaku, you are my only faithful reader! Live long and prosper, girl! |
Aleeria 2004-01-17 . chapter 1Hell, who's going to flame THIS? Wow, that was excellent...I am in complete and total awe!

btw, I write poetry if you feel the urge. |
SilentBlueRose 2003-12-22 . chapter 1Good. This is great. People really need to read this. It states the position of mankind so well. I really enjoyed reading this. It is nice to know that some people out there still do believe in God and show it.
Being a Christian, I agree with this wholeheartedly. All the points in here are so true. Especially the one homosexuality. Humankind these days has become so relaxed on it. Yet God states, specifically, and many times, in the Bible that it is WRONG. I am so glad that your grandfather put that in this work. It needs to be said.
Thank you for posting this. I thought it was kind of strange, how it was about man's stupidity, yet it used large words. Odd. But good, none the less.
May God bless you. Thank you again for getting this out.

Eyahnah 2003-12-22 . chapter 1Homosexuality is mentioned in the bible in the same context as "women shall not shave" Homosexuality is not a choice. And although I can not flame you for writing this, posting it breeds feelings of hatred and closed mindedness. Vocabulary aside, this is full of blind hatred. Compared to many groups following the "word of god" homosexuals as well as bisexuals have committed an insignificant amount of hate crimes committed by believers. Homosexuality also occurs outside the human species. Sorry to rant. |
Platypi 2003-12-22 . chapter 1Ew. As you say flames are useless in this case, it will suffice to say that I really would not like to have known your grandfather, that if you think the words used in here are "big" there is something wrong, and that he is incorrect in his Bible knowledge if he thinks that homosexuality is "the most disgusting degenerate activity that Satan could have ever possibly conjured," as there are countless of other mitzvot (commandments) in the Bible that are looked down upon much worse than homosexuality (Compare the punishment for homosexuality to other sins, for example). Additionally, he never addresses why this Bible should be taken as the word, rather than the Canon of some Eastern Religion. He has so many other assumptions that it's not even worth me going into. Sorry for going this into detail. To comment on the writing itself, it is overall well-written but its overuse of slashes and parentheses really intrigues me.
Why in God's name am I wasting a review on this? Dammit. |
