Sorry, had to go there. I like this one, although it's very bleak. Eh, maybe I'm in a mood to enjoy bleak things. It's not just what you say, but your choice of words. These poems are meant to be heard as much as read.

Excellent title. I like the mysterious style of your poem. Very descriptive. You have some really great lines in here.

This is a great piece. I esp. love your last stanza, "The rhapsodical hunt continues, yet I sense a harrowing quest, not because He doesn't exist but because someone before me has feasted on His heart." I now have to guess "history!"

i especially liked the last two stanzas...loved 'open-throat hunger'...has a wonderful touch of sensually to it...in my mind anyway.
the last stanza ties in so beatifully to the theme of the fur hunters...you are a God hunter. love it!

This is the most amazing poem...Wow...I will have to read it many more times to find something to critique, this could possibly be my new favourite of yours.
