Larinon is certainly a character perfectly fitting t a haunted house. Likes women and booze and I'm sure that he's a sister soul for my kitty Belial, hehe.
That illusion magic is too useful. I wonder if I can learn a couple of tricks when my mother visits. Nice touch, by the way. I believe that everyone of us who hasn't fantasised of such a power. And it could be quite useful in a haunted house, methinks.
And his mother's obsession about their elven blood is too funny and fits in the story perfectly.
Ah, I really love the story. I hope I'll get to see the rest of it.

Will Larinon be the only "hero"?

Cool. But why doesn't Aldon just destroy both copies of the will and forge new ones? Then, when the Heirs of Terimar come in response to the letters they recieved, he can just tell them it was a mistake. Attribute it to half-elven madness and all. Aldon's smart enough and sneaky enough to pull that off: why doesn't he?

Is this story set before or after The Pretentious Pentad? There's royalty...That could mean before Queen Bel or after Kymenos.
Wasn't Elliana(the princess) The name of a goddess in Queen at any Moment?

Strange how Larinon thoughts are only concerned with the jewels, and not everlasting youth. Ah, well, I'm sure he'll get to that soon enough. He seems sort of like a cross between Kymenos and Ternora...

And this is what I'm doing instead of typing my thesis... Anyway, your note hooked me up before reading a single word of the story. I LOVE ghost stories and parodies as well.
Aldon is a scheming, bloodthirsty creep. But I guess you knew that.
So far I liked this. I'm sure that Aldon will prove to be inventive and interesting, as will his traps. And I already love the atmosphere of the story.
I think I'm going to love this tale.
