Interesting! That is to say, your characters are. I'm sad to admit that I haven't read Lotus, but methinks I shall now...though this is short, it's quite sweet. Your prose has very few noticable mistakes, and that easily helped me to focus more on the story (which right now is generally the characters, though I'm eager to see what happens next). And of course, of course, the boylove is a major plus (AND a boy with glasses! *cheers*). *grins* Good work! ^_^
