Reviews For: shame of a soldier at war
redsky 2004-01-17 . chapter 2
This is very good, and only gets better. The woman of fiction most men wrote true is painfully accurate, and only serves to add more to this character. I love how he has remained nameless. It represents a quality of mystery to him, but at the same time, he could be any soldier. Good work,

This is good. A very well done description of a scared young man forced into a war which he wants no part of. I think the only thing I can suggest is perhaps adding more description of what things he's seen. Men burned by mustard gas, coughing out their last for days at a time, men hit by machine gun fire. These weapons were not used in any war previous and I think it would be terrible to see a man torn open by hundreds of bullets at a time while hanging from barbed wire. Well, just a suggestion, but it would show the gritty, ugly, and senseless reality of war.
Good luck
