Crap this is cool. This is such a creative explanation for such an already-amazing piece of artwork. I read this a few weeks before I went to see the actual painting in the Milwaukee Art Museum, and I immediately thought of this. It's so mesmerizing. The ermine seems like it could just as easily be a person, which I never thought of in that painting. It was so human it gave me a little shudder. Love it!
