hey i like your references to the world wars...your style is nice

I love all the metaphorical goodness. Analogize away, and the world will fall to its knees for you. Or something like that.

The wood, and the ashes, and the money, and...it's very moving.

But I also happened to like the bit with an alligator. It kinda jumped out at me. "...with all the inherent gentleness and softness of a hungry alligator." Hah.

I just wanted to say that that piece of writing was supurb. Your word choice and description is amazing beyond my simplistic words. I actually had a friend just like that. My story is different. As cliche as it may sound, she is in the popular crowd while I am the outcast of the outcasts.
Well I just wanted to say that you put my writing to shame, lol. You have great writing skills.

Wow. This was a very impressive expansion on one scene and it completely left me sitting here, speechless. Your way with words is so compelling, and everything just flows so wonderfully together. My favorite part is where you used a piece of history to use your point, with the German minted money. Genius I tell ya. Anyway, I'm not reviewing so u look at my own work (honestly: my work is not even close to being nearly as good at yours) but I enjoyed this short one shot. And I hope you write some more because I really do adore your style; it makes reading more fun. So keep up the fabulous work!

This is wonderful. The analogies are great, and I can really feel the emotion. It's wonderful how you can capture one moment in time, one passing, and turn it into such a long piece of art.
