I liked the way you wrote it the most, how you made third-person seem to work. The instrument thing was something original, and it's easy for me to read. Can't type anymore. Too tired.

On a serious note, I believe if you used this short 1 page story as a guidline and keep writing and adding on to it, this would be a very good book. nods I would love to one day be in the stores all glum-like then find "Death of the Mockingbird" by J.S.Danskin on the shelves and get all happy! ^_^ Well anywhoo I'm gunna go.
