I couldn't agree more. A broadly similar phenomenon has occurred in British politics; parties prize unity above all else, and if a few MPs disagree with the Prime Minister then they think the world's going to blow up. If nobody is allowed to disagree with the party line, then what is the point of a House of Commons anyway?
