This chapter meshed well with the others, you shouldn't worry your head about that.In fact, I found it refreshing, in a way; this chapter strengthened some of the royal characters and demonstrated plot twists that are occuring around A'Rinn but that don't necessarily involve her directly -- just yet. It just adds to the intrigue.I can definitely understand why writing this plotline requires you to be in a certain "mindset"... I feel the same way about mine sometimes. It's like characters in certain plotlines require a specific frame of mind in order for them to come to life and tell their story. And sometimes, as a writer, you just can't force it to happen, you have to wait for it. Frustrating, but true nonetheless. :)

I actually find this story intriguing. A'Rinn's life has suddenly gone from repetitive and simplistic, to complex and sinister, and the undercurrents alone seem to be enough to sweep her off her feet. Harems were never so totally free of politics and resembled nothing more amongst its members than a microcosm of the real world they were sequestered from. I certainly look forward to reading more!
