Lellida 2004-12-20 . chapter 1"I want to know that I am good enough"
Don't worry- you are good enough, at least in your ability to write. Not going to say I enjoy the subject matter, cause I have too much against it, but it is a really well done poem, and you make your point quite vividly and well. Nicely done. |
Eirien 2004-12-06 . chapter 1I like this one as well, it's very out-spoken, and the element of social (and personal) criticism is convincing. The other one held more emotion and was more immediate in its description and details, which I like better, but this one shows more of the reasons, of society's fault in producing pressure, hopelessness, resignation. |
Cara-the-Great 2004-08-27 . chapter 1Hey. You reviewed one of my poems a long time ago and I figured I'd stop by. I was really impressed by this, it's awesome. I feel the same way sometimes, very much lately. My dad didn't even come to see me on my birthday. He sent me a lousy card, the same one as last year, and he didn't even sign "love" on it. Like I didn't deserve it or something. But getting back to your piece... There are times when I also think I'm not pretty enough, good enough, or smart enough for my peers, but then I wonder why I should care about their thoughts about me anyway. I'm stuck on that fork in the road where the right leads to freedom and carelessness, and the left leads to devastation and anguish. You can't live completely in one place. You need to visit both. |
Pigsflew 2004-02-17 . chapter 1You are good enough, better than most, you're prettier than perhaps is your share, and always, always smarter than you think. I hope the words have faded at least slightly from mind and tissue, because they simply aren't true. And don't worry about your father not remembering your birthday, precious few fathers do. It's an important date, it should be as important in his life as it is in yours or your mothers, but if he forgets when, it's not because he cares about you any less.
Firstly don't listen to anyone if they put you down. Criticism is one thing, but if someone says something that's rude, ignore them, because it shows more about their character than it does about yours. Not only that, but chances are, unless you believe them, they're wrong. Secondly, don't ever sell yourself short, don't put yourself down, because you don't need that; you're better than that, and you know it. Or at least i hope you do, because you should.
Lastly, you owe me a hug, but any time you feel you want one from me, you don't even have to ask. I'd be more than happy to oblige. ^^
I love you
