I find it hard to respond because the essay is all over the place. It digresses and then expands on its digressions and then forgets what its point was in the first place.
The rights/law argument deserves its own essay, and so does your opinion on the Patriot Act. I understand the parallel between them but by doing things as you did it's hard for the reader to draw a conclusion on either.
