Captain Blunderbuss 2004-05-13 . chapter 1Hm, Maybe why I haven't read too many of these is because they are very good, yet very effective at making one slightly depressed. It is a good poem, I kinda like the effect you were going for, but it seemed a little distracting...maybe. Take care! |
Eirien 2004-03-19 . chapter 1Very good job. The idea with the chat-room format is quite unique and fits perfectly here. The combination if that with your lyrical imagery is very effective (I especially love the third line.). It’s very intriguing that around the middle of the poem the reader is not sure any longer if there are one or two persons talking, at least that’s the way it appears to me, especially the “So I do.” It could be God trying to speak with a “still small voice” in the speaker’s head. (?) One question: Why is the chatroom called Scipio? Is there any deliberate allusion to one of the Roman military leaders fighting against Hannibal, or which Scipio, if at all? |
