Wow, this is frickin awesome. I think my favorite lines are "I can just run along / Puppet on a haunted string / Swallow my pride and move on." It reminds me of "Master of Puppets" by Metallica...
Anyway, this is an awesome description of slowly going insane. And I know exactly how you feel. You're not alone! Not that I can help you much... I'm right on that muddy slope getting my own soul pretty messed up too. Just thought I'd tell you that your words are very powerful. Though possibly you might want to fix it so it looks like stanzas? It's kind of hard to read all the way through like that. It's easy to do, all you have to do is put 2 empty lines in between the stanzas if you're using Word.
