A Very Disappointed Author 2005-11-26 . chapter 1
Interesting piece, but I just thought I'd review to point something out. The first two reviews on this piece are two completely differing viewpoints...but strangly enough...they are from the exact same user...

MrFlames and Le Creature are the exact same person...so why would he be in support of thos piece one second, and then flame it the next? Is MrFlames too afraid to admit to liking a piece like this publicly, on the account he is more generally known for, so instead must mask it hoping nobody to find him out?

Strange.

Btw for those of you who don't believe me (and I hope that reviews don't mess up URLs like stories and such do here) just look at this review panel:

http://w.fictionpress.com/reviews.php?storyid=2047871

MrFlames, in one of his reviews says the following:

"Before you accuse me of plagiarizing something I've never read, I suggest you supply some evidence. If you want to debate about it, feel free to do so on my other account."

Which was written in response to a review I left for a piece written by Le Creature...so consider that proof

either way, getting back to the true point of a review, I find this well-written and supported

good job

This was very informative, and I loved it.We also have a GSA at our school.I laugh when people think homosexuality is a fad or a phase. If it is then it's a fad that has gone on a hell of a long time. All the way back to the Greeks and farther. It was daily life for them.I believe the Spartians even had an all gay military, or parts of it.One reason it may have fadded into the background was because early humans were focused on living to the next day, so they needed children. Increasing their numbers, but when survival wasn't as big an importance as it was they concentraited on making their life easier and more comfortable. More the way they would rather live it. Inventing somethings that we can't exactly duplicate now. Greek fire for example. After the fall of the Roman empire things went down hill. I'd say mostly in Northern Europe. People had to relearn things and deal with the colder climates. Much importance was also placed on religion and was unquestioned and followed blindly (I know there was exceptions) Suvival also became very, very important after and during the Black Plague.

Perhaps we are getting to a point in history where people will be comfortable with other people's lives and generally stay out of their business. Maybe life will just become that life. I really don't find sexual preferance to be all that important. I would consider myself 'out', but I do not broadcast it to the world 24/7. I am not closeted either.

I usually respond with "Does it matter?"and that shows if the person is worth my time.

Anyway, sorry for the long post and spelling errors. Have a Good Life!

PS:I believe that my info should be correct, but I may be wrong

Good essay, I totally agree with you that homosexuality isn't just a fad. Kudos to you for being open about being gay, despite some of the intolerant comments sadly left here. Still, those are small fry compared to what gay people faced in the past, and it shows the world is moving forward, a little at a time. Hopefully intolerance of gay people will fade to a small minority of grudge bearers in a few years, and gays will be able to have all the same marriage rights as us straight folk.

That was the most extensive essay on homosexuality that I have ever seen... and I am very impressed.

A bit long and not really anything new, but it confirmed some facts for me nonetheless. The essay board is a place to express your opinions and views, regardless of what they are.

Nicely done, and well researched. Difficult to read, though. Breaking up some of the paragraphs would help.

"gay man acted just like the straight man."

Yeah, cuz i've personally seen straight men go into stores and yell "Jesus Christ would ya look at those boothz." then buy out the place.

"I believe that even though this is a catholic school, we should have one of these."

Yeah, I mean, it's a Catholic school, and they should really allow people to set up clubs that are against their values. I mean, there should be a gay rights club, an abortion club, and they should allow clubs for people who like to look at little girls. I mean, why the hell shouldnt they thrown down their own beliefs?

Ello there, I thought this was good with some well made points, now, as many tend to do, I am going to adress the flamers...
Nickolaus Pacione: If you dont want gay marriages, dont have one, its better for your uncle to get out of a loveless marriage, as for going at it with slash writers, that shows what an insecure bully you are
Fugiguru: The essay board is for OPINIONS, if you dont like OPINONS, dont go to the esay board
MrFlames: Gay people should have rights like heterosexuals, they have every right to be anti-homophobes! I mea, dont a black person have a right to be anti-whitesupremist? Even if there are not enough gays in the world to defeat homophobes like you, there are heteroes like myself who will join there side and kick your **
Steven Lawrence: Nobody is MAKING you read these, your just an idiot with no life who enjoys putting others down
Anywho, kick ** essay.
Nickolaus Pacione 2004-07-24 . chapter 1
I don't agree with homosexuality in any form, I read your black hole essay and that is the only one I found intriguing but this -- I will bring the argument of my views on mariage being one man and one woman. I don't subscribe to homosexuality.
Homosexuality broke up my uncle's marriage of 20 years, and if you see me going into a rant about it this is why. This is the reason I went at it with Poppy Z. Brite. I have views that might ** off a lot of gays but really I don't give a damn. I go at it with a lot of slash/yaoi/yuri/femslash writers for this reason. I speak as a straight male when I write this. It is almost if heterosexuality is treated as a crime by the homosexual community -- ever since Matt Sheppard was killed, I seem to relate more and more to A.J. McKinney. I said this in an interview back in 2002, about the time when the arrested Geoghan -- they seemed to take Jesus Christ off the cross and put Matt Sheppard in his place. Disagree with me all you want here but I don't agree with the entire gblt agenda.

good i liked it so far i havent finished reading it .
Forest Passant 2004-07-08 . chapter 1
I agree, it's not a fad. The essay was a bit long, but you made good points. I think the reason you hear about it more is that homosexuality is becoming more accepted in society... neways, good essay.

to deter people from writing anything else on homosexuality, i propose a boycott. perhaps if the authors get no more reviews, they'll stop all together?
MrFlames 2004-03-04 . chapter 1
All I have to say, is that was very very badly written, and doesn't bring up any good points at all about why you should be married. I just think that this is a lousy attempt at showing how anti-homophobic you are, and how you should be treated the same way we are. You are human to, not some superman that deserves more than us. I think that some day you will find out that we are stronger than you because we have kept our battle for rights up longer than any of you fools (this is not directed towards gay people, but only towards the anti-homophobic, and hateful ones.) and we are winning. And I garuntee you, there are not enough gays in this world to stop us from winning, especially ones like you that write very short essays on how we shouldn't get as many rights as the gays. I have no good words for this, but rather saying that you should not have even put something as discriminatory as this on this site. It is just plain old wrong. Have a nice time making fun of us, and not confronting us like you should.
