Dreaming One 2005-02-10 . chapter 1I really enjoyed this poem. I love poetry, but for some reason have never posted mine. This poem was something I could relate to. I love art. I think my favorite moment in this poem was when you wrote:
"Some shadows outline the nose, wrinkle clothes—Not too much! Light must show through."
The dash does something there. It's exciting.
Anyway, I have an ulterior motive here! ;) I wanted to thank you for your kind reviews of my story, and I wanted to respond to something you mentioned. "Fornication Under Consent of King" for F.U.C.K.
No no no, I agree that that was never what it meant. F.U.C.K. was actually written on either a sign or garment that women who had committed adultery had to wear during the middle ages. It meant "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge," and people who saw it would throw things at the women, beat them, and harass them in other ways. I guess the word was catchy, lol. Blah, I know I'm a freak for bothering to tell you that, but I can't help it. :S
Thanks for your support!
Keep Writing!

Willow Elandria 2004-05-28 . chapter 1Once again, an excellent poem. Narrative without losing its poeticism (heh, if that's a word).
Light, and beautifully written. Excellent imagery - I love "people without time blink at them like owls." |
