Wow, I love this story! KEEP WRITING IT, DON'T YOU DARE STOP! I kinda agree with Moineau though about the extraneous conversation with the innkeeper...but then, you do get to know Aiden's personality better...his kindness and servanthood to the innkeeper by doing the fire and that. But anyway, The King's Challenge has been added to my list of favorite stories!

A very good read you've got here. I look forward to reading more, find out what this contest really has in store for the contestants.
I always like to give a bit of criticism in reviews. So... The story gets off to a very slow start. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. The characters and plot and such are still being developed. However, you do include quite a lot that seems to have little significance to the story. For example, the whole conversation with the innkeeper in the second chapter. We don't learn anything new so it just kinda bogs down the story.
Otherwise, good work and keep going on this. It's looking promising!
