Samuel T. Findlay 2004-07-06 . chapter 1Well I have reviewed another of your stories and I didn't like this one quite as much, but it still very well written. Oh, and I agree - the end was a tad fluffy. I'm not as fascinated by the naval aspect of the Napoleonic Wars as the land campaigns, but anything set between 1792 and 1815 I'll read and enjoy. Just one question: Is a 36-gun vessel considered a man-of-war? I thought that was a tag applied only to ships boasting a larger number of guns (perhaps 50+, but I really don't know). Anyway, I'm not sure about the above, but it might be worth checking out. Might. Anyway, I would like to see more of these characters so bring on A Midshipman's Easter or whatever is going to follow this. |
