Beautifully done. I like this. There's so much in these few words, it captures the melancholy of final leave-taking, of dying.

Well, I ordinarily don't really like haikus that much. I find them too short. But, I think this is a well written one though. It has interesting word choices and a very good amount of emotion. I am also inspired by evanescence some in my work too. But, I think it's a good haiku.
