Logophile 2005-04-04 ch 4,	abuseOk, chapter five was being a ** so Im reviewing chapter 4. Im a female in a JROTC called Young Marines. Im a Sergeant (Going by the marines enlisted) with about 15 over me at our drill center, and Im on drill team/color guard. Im Delta companys second platoon sergeant, and the female platoon leader for our boot camps when I have the time. Im going to be going to a SLS (Senior Leadership School) in June. It sounds alot like what you did at your camp, according to my NCO's. Just reviewing to let you know that your story made me smile. It was very motivating. Also, we have a sandpit out in back of our drill center for the marines to play volleyball or for us to use to quarterdeck someone, I think I might start calling it the sand cookie... that made me laugh.

Your Spring Camp sounds alot like our Summer Leadership School, except they woke us up by throwing trash cans up and down the hallway in time to Revielle and Iron Man. I'm also probably gonna enlist in the Army this summer.

Some people become VERY right-winged and go against the flow, other people adapt to get higher up in the system so they can change the system. I stand with whatever decision you made. First off, let me say that this experience doesn't sound like living hell, it sounds like fun. Lance Corporal No Name sounds exactly like my very own AI, Sergeant First Class Rebecca Crocker. Second, forty guys on the same bus for hours CAN refrain from any cussing. It's called discipline. Third, I am very surprised that your instructors didn't kill you for calling them sir and ma'am. Steven Lawrence 2004-05-14 ch 1, anon.	abuseAhh yes, JROTC summer camp. I remember mine well. A young sergeant, I led my barracks to two consecutive perfect scores, thus securing Honor Company for Alpha Company. Good times then, especially when I led an ambush squad against Charlie, Delta, Echo, and a late arriving Bravo. That, if you're interested, simply involved us hiding in the brush, mosquitos suckin our blood, as we awaited for squads from each company to arrive. Then we burst out of there and soaked them with our canteens. A worthy victory. Best thing about camp? I learned how to skin a rabbit or other furry creature with my bear hands. Memories... --S
