Reviews For: On Love
NeWriter 2004-04-17 . chapter 1
Many philosophers (or whatever it's spelt like) have been searching for a conclusion or something which is the closest to who they are about the word LOVE. It's true... love comes in so many different ways that you'll never find a whole person in the entire world who will have the same, the EXACT same feeling, as you do. Even the person you love will feel something different from you but that it is also connected to what you feel.
Think about this... without love, there's nothing. Not like a greyness nor a very depressed world: what's left is NOTHING. You hear the news about all those terrorists, you hear that a mother sacrificed herself for her daughter... that a person has had three abortions and is going to the fourth one, etc. All these events have something to do with what you have tried to express here. Humans circulate around the world love and from that feeling; there's many more. That's my conclusion anyway... and it's impossible for someone NOT to live with love. Noticing is somsething completely different which takes a lot of experience to be able to understand what we are sorrounded by. Good luck, and I liked the descriptions you added at the end!

Interesting. Methinks you are a closet believer in love after I read this piece. You failed to mention a few things though: different types of love. I'm currently writing an essay on love for this sector, so I will not say too much. There are, essentially, three types of love I am able to comprehend (there may be four): love amongst friends and comrades (philio love), love amongst family, and love amongst two individuals (ero love). I just thought you might want to know about that for future reference.
All in all, not a bad essay, you did a good job at analyzing an overall concept of love.

I could feel the red and orange... my experience is different, so I see it as blues and greens and purples. Love is most definitely indescribable - which is why I hardly ever use the word. And when I do, it is only because there is no word for what I feel. I know the "plastic and fake and wrong" feeling of the word. I refuse to use it with people for that reason. I use it only with those who I think know what it means to me to say it.
You've expressed your ideas well... I feel like I understand your perspective clearly, which says something considering the subject. I couldn't possibly write about my view (I've tried in some of my FP stuff - just can't get it nearly right). I've been where you are and can totally relate to your words (obviously - this review is WAY longer than any others I've written, so you've struck a cord). Reading what you've written and remember that feeling, it makes me value the people I truly love even more.
You've been writing up a storm, girl - keep it up! ^_~
