CW-nerd-12 6/10/04 . chapter 1Have you ever read "Daddy" by Sylvia Plath? Her father died when she was ten, and the man she married, Ted Hughes, reminded her of her father (in a good way, she fondly remembered her father). Then Ted went out and had numerous affaris with other women, and abandoned Sylvia to raise two children on her own. "Daddy" is the result of that. It's one of my favorites, you would probably adore it. You should definitely study it and try using some of the techniques Sylvia Plath used in writing poems about your father, like how she described the little details about him that give away what she remembers of him. |
