Looking good so far, although I don't know what a kid would be doing with a German accent if she moved to America when she was one and "spoke good English" by the time she was three. Especially by high school, she should have basically automatically conformed to the local accent. At first, the first person perspective felt odd, but I got used to it. Overall, it's a good story. Looking forward to the conclusion!
