I just passed over your page looking for a film called,"Anarchy in America." Thats **, but I can totally see that happening even at my school. I'm near the pacific in central california, but I can tell you the religion is all over and mind sucking. Even if you were a satanist, It is said as a christian you should tolerate other religions...we all know thats not the case. If it's not what "jesus" says, it's wrong in all the wrong ways. You know? Different is scary to narrow-minded. Maybe from what you can get from my film search, I think the amendments are also **. You're saying that, because you were punished for writing "satan is our pal", your first amendment rights have been violated. Ok. What about a kid who wears a shirt that says "Faggots suck" on it, and is punished? That's a "violation" of his rights, Isn't it? But it's one that you'd wholeheartedly agree with. Saying "**" might be offensive to some people, so his right can be violated. Right?

citizens have rights, yes, but children in schools have no rights, at least not at school. our school security police officer told us that last year.

I don't necessarily think what your school did was WRONG, because you DO go to a Bible Belt school, where, you know, Satan might offend some people and all...but I'm wondering what exactly was your punishment. If you just had to wash it off or cover your hand, it doesn't seem like such a big deal. If it were a political statement, then that could be something different, but religion's an even touchier subject. But anyshoe, nice job speaking your mind.

the reason you were punished for writing a satanistic message on yourself if because you go to a school in the BIBLE BELT. wearing a message promoting SATANISM in a BIBLE BELT environment is the equivalent of a half-naked girl walking into a seedy bar. both actions are going to prove a reaction. as far as schools go, you are ONLY protected in a school by your first amendment right within REASON. if an expression of your first amendment right conflicts with the values that the school is preaching, or if the school deems that expression of your rights to be potentially dangerous or negative to the general learning atmosphere, then the school by law has the right to make you change. there's nothing you can do.
to be honest i agree with you on the fact that you should be allowed to express yourself, but you need to realize some of the basic facts first before saying that just anything should go.

The problem with you (and most atheist) us that you can never see the other side of the light. Do you think Christians aren't discriminated at all? Hell, people are twisting our religon around so people not of our religon can marry.

However, I do agree with you. What the school did is wrong. But that doesn't mean ** to anyone, you are just nine numbers and an certificate to the government. They don't give a ** about the likes of you (or me for that matter) until we're old enough to have a vote whored.

I have fought my school on these sorts of things so many times. I plan on wearing many anti-bush tshirts this year before the presidential election.
If you feel your rights have been violated, go to the american civil liberties union website and file a complaint. They will contact you if they think they can help.

'Free Speech' means you're allowed to praise Satan as much as God and attack Jews as much as Nazis if you so wish. The whole point is no one has to listen to you.
There's also the fact that there's no such thing as good and bad in the real world so Satan can't be bad.

Yeah, um, that's because you actually aren't protected by all your constitutional rights in a school setting. Read up on previous court cases--the school is allowed to limit your rights in the interest of creating a positive learning environment, and my guess is that writing "Satan is your friend" on your hand at a Bible-thumping school like you described might be a little disruptive.
