I'm in love with this stanza. It's so uncomfortably true and the irony is wonderful, the way you juxtaposed 'Guiding' with the idea of Taunting.

Powerful, haunting, almost frightening. You sure capture the reader with your imagery. One wonders who the speaker might be, whether it is a person or some abstract or spiritual force that is personified.
