Usually I laugh at animal cruelty, but this just didn't do it for me. My suggestion: next chapter, Hegerty's egg grows up to avenge his/her mother. With a sacred smaurai sword. And a flamethrower. And a schoolbus load of orphans get caught in the crossfire. If you're gonna write this stuff, you need to go completely over the top.
