Tsubasa Rose 2008-01-03 . chapter 1i absolutely loved your story. As i was reading there seemed to be a different vibe behind it. When i was i read that you were older than the average writer i read- i think that it's totally awesome. Your experience definately brought something to the table because i found your story amazing and as soon as i have time, i'm going to try your other stuff. Diana was just so fun with her revelations. |
Written 2006-04-06 . chapter 17Gorgeous writing! I guessed that you were a bit older than the average writer here on fp.com from your writing style nad the experience you seem to have, so I went over to your profile, and lo and behold, I was right! You have awesome writing that sounds very. . . honest? It seems that, at least to some degree, you write what you know, and you know enough to make a story full.
I loved every moment of this.
And I see you like the black hills of good old SD! I'm from around there, though I'm far away at college now, and gosh, I miss it.
thanks for writing! |
 Bookwormer 2004-06-10 . chapter 17 Yay!
All praise from now on, I swear! Cross my heart and all the rest of that good junk. I really liked reading your story, and never feel too old to write! Because I love the little bits of advice you interspersed with the story. Someone my age wouldn't have had the experiences you've had - it gives your story a unique identity.
I love your characters, all of them. They all have separate identities (even Emily and Virginia are different). I won't forget your story. Thanks so much for writing it. |
 Bookwormer 2004-06-10 . chapter 16 I can't believe I'm pausing to write a review!
Evil, gross, vile, odius man! I agree that it works much better when she saves herself. I wonder how Ian knows not to ** his sister off. Only cool people can see ghosts and odd lights, and Doug is obviously not cool.
Last but least, why isn't everyone running up the stairs. I'm sure Virginia would be dying to know what was going on. |
Bookwormer 2004-06-10 . chapter 15 How did Jack know that it was spider webs on her mind even though all he saw was angel hair?
I like Diana's altered frame of mind. She's finally getting around to the Supreme's song of You can't hurry love ... it's a game of give and take. Where did this light come from? Does that old school teacher's ghost want Diana to take the money?
I can't wait to read more, I'll be back later. |
Bookwormer 2004-06-10 . chapter 14 HA! So they've come back to reek revenge on those who got more of Ms. Babineaux's food than they did. Though, it was their own fault. They did leave early.
Why did she go toward the music? This scene reminded me of that one in The Birds, when she goes up the staircase. (O, Jack has to save her! or at least try, but then she saves herself ) The entire time I was sitting there whispering idiot...idiot...idiot over and over again like a mantra. She should have made Jack go with her to "have her back" as they say.
I also know someone with that ability. They're not as fast, maybe not as good at it, but way better than me. |
Bookwormer 2004-06-10 . chapter 13 Ms. Babineaux is an interesting character. I was almost about to suggest that Emmett was cooking but wasn't going to admit it.
I like your fight scenes, they feel real. Ian's just the little meddler, isn't he?
I was just curious if you are a fan of Johnny Depp. I like his acting style. He expresses so much in his facial expressions without using words. In many ways this is how I wish authors could write. (I mean you have to use words, but) instead of just saying this or that happens. You show it. You do some of that, it's why I like this story so much. |
 Bookwormer 2004-06-09 . chapter 12 Ahh!
Personally, I agree with Jack, she needs to figure this out on her own, instead of just letting it take her for a ride.
Really short, cause I need to go, but I plan to continue having fun for the rest of my life and I hope you do too. |
Bookwormer 2004-06-09 . chapter 11 I like the history you add in at just the right time. Serves Jack right to have ruined plans, he's the one who mentioned she used to do face painting.
Do you ever watch Antiques Roadshow on PBS (channel 9 at my house)? I love that show, but I agree with your theory that something is only worth what someone will pay for it. |
Bookwormer 2004-06-09 . chapter 10 The consequences of maniacal laughter!
So where are Doug and Ross?
Something you might want to work on is switching POV's and locations of a scene. In ch. 9 you switched that last one really well (between Diana's bedroom and those two villains). Sometimes I get a little confused on whose talking to whom and where.
But I love it all the same, and it's time to move on to ch. 11... |
Ani 2004-06-08 . chapter 17 Ah... Beautiful ending to a beautiful story. I absolutely enjoyed every part of it... especially the part where Ian says, "You don't want to ** her off." In the hands of an angry woman, anything can become a lethal weapon. Of course, I'm wondering if "Just Claude" really IS just someone who was hired to run around. Emmet never really seemed like he would purposely advertise his haunted house in that fashion. But anyway, this was excellent and I hope to see more stories from you soon. ^_^ |
Bookwormer 2004-06-08 . chapter 8 Somehow I managed to accidentally read ch. 9 first and I didn't even realize it, till I went to look at the reviews.
I love it. You've convinced me that it's real and not just some story (though I know in my head it is a story). You're doing (or did I should say) a wonderful job. |
Bookwormer 2004-06-08 . chapter 9 To use an overly trite expression, you're making my skin crawl.
We knew those two were no good from the first time we met them. But where do they think the treasure is? I'm inclined to agree that it might be in the antiques just lying about.
I just wanted to say thank you for not including unnecessary details about what went on in Dianna's room. I may not be entirely gung-ho about it, but she is much older than I. It's your story, and I can't wait to read more. |
 Bookwormer 2004-06-08 . chapter 7 Wonderful Chapter!
I was (silently) squealing while reading this. You make my stomach churn.
So whose steps did they hear? It must have been someone, but probably not one of the group. Poor Melinda (Ok, I should say poor Dianna too, but) she was really shaken up by that experience.
Laughing after that ordeal seems like a perfectly natural reaction to relive such stress. I hope to read more soon. |
Bookwormer 2004-06-08 . chapter 6 I'm happy to see that you have completed this fic. Unfortunately, I have not.
Who is this mysterious cook?
Yeah, haven't had too much luck in the guy department - never even dated. Oh, well! My friends are so much more fun to hang out with.
When they're in the Widows Walk, it's nice that you included her intuition. That was cool.
Ahh! I have to go, but I'll be thinking about this all through class! |
