This definitely carries the emotion well. I didn't see anything specifically defining it until the stanza talking about insulation. It's such an interesting metaphor, it gives the whole piece a new twist. Keeping things in and out all at once...very accurate to this sort of situation. My condolences if this is about real life...but it turned out well.
