Ah, brilliant. I loved that.
Unfortunately I felt that the dialogue was slightly weak at the end, especially having the doctor 'consult Mr and Mrs Thompson' rather than his 'mum and dad' for instance, but I can see what you had to do. Maybe the surname could have been brought in some other way.
Having said that though, the idea behind the story was excellent, and I think I am often more impressed by good ideas rather than perfect execution.

Yeah, it's me ^_^ Very cool story. The briefness was just right for the subject, I think. Freaky, really... I don't really know how to feel toward the main character. Sympathy isn't really it... I don't know... maybe just makes me think of how things are adapted in other people's minds, y'know? Like a massively extreme misinterpretation. Everyone sees things so differently... this just emphasized that in a rather diabolical way.
