Alhana Starbreeze 2005-11-01 . chapter 1I LOVE IT! I can't put in words how good this is. All I can say is that if you think that your writing is inferior to your compositions, I can't even start to imagine how beautiful your songs are! This poem says exactly how I feel about music, It's nice to meet a kindred spirit. Love always, ~Star~ |
hocsll 2004-06-20 . chapter 1yes, i agree...music is a very powerful force, and you have described it quite well here too. maybe you should see this story my friend wrote, he adores music too: http://w.fictionpress.com/read.php?storyid=1638862 |
Shinigami287 2004-06-13 . chapter 1Thanks for your review. But on to the poem.
I am also a composer, and it is imposible to explain in words what music can do to people. It does take you away from everything, just finding the right chord, or that a C# works perfectly there, it is certainly a great feeling
Nice writing, and keep composing, it frees the soul more than anything. |
Mallory 2004-06-13 . chapter 1 It's great that you feel so powerfully about something. I love music to. I can't play it or anything, but I love to listen to it and dance to it |
Sunflower Philosophy 2004-06-12 . chapter 1Then you'll be pleased to know that I'm putting together a tune for "I Really Am"... it's tricky, because I let the rhythm in the verses flow very freely and loosely, but the tune for the chorus really expresses what the whole thing means to me.
And I really understand what you mean here... music is also an enormous part of my life. When I sing I find myself sort of floating above everything, it's like being in a different world. I've only been learning piano for three years, but I advanced very quickly because I just slip into a different existance when I play. I hardly know what I'm doing. I memorize peices before I know how to read the notes, and then I can only remember the whole thing with two hands together. I can't play it seperately. I just sort of put my hand on the keys and nothing happens, unless both hands are there...
So yeah. I understand this poem.
Great job.
(Oh yeah, and thanks for the review.)
m~* Sunflower, anyone? |
The Wayward Fox 2004-06-12 . chapter 1I don't want to be trite with words, so I'll try to keep it simple. This is a beautiful poem, fully containing your love for your work and the joy you feel creating. Far from the "I suffer for my art' cliche, you acknowledge the hard spots of the creative method, but revel in it's overall beauty. Makes me wonder if your music contains so much of your soul. Cheers. |
