Need 'n' Know 2005-05-21 . chapter 1
I like Elves; don't like orcs. Actually, I LOVE elves, and orcs scare me. Hmm.

I've always liked that: "Hey ho!"

"The fruits of deep"...

Yay! Sorry, I loved this. Pardon my rather juvenile display of giddyness. Wow. This made me smile so much; it's so indicative of the dwarves' character. Kudos to you!

Hi Werecat ;) Just wanted to let you know I'm still with ya. If not reviewing of late. This is a really cute little song. Dwarves are cool too. Though I like all of 'em :) Have you written an Orc song yet? I'd like to see that :p I guess it'd go something like "maim and eat and destroy and gorge..." or something? :-)

This definitely sounds like a dwarf song. I can picture a 'Lord of the Ring' type background for all of this. Great imagery here.
Happy writing!

PS. I love that cat pic. in your bio!

Not so sure about the men and orcs, but I'm with you about the elves and dwarfs. . . .

The poem itself: I liked it, nice rythem. It sounds like its missing siomething from an ordinary workday song (possibly rhyming? Ordinary work-songs usually do.)

But it was really enjoyable.
Cheers!

Really fun, and cool! Good job

This has a great heave-ho rhythm. Favourite verse: middle one. This is nicely no-nonsense, as one might expect of Aule's children. However, this is not especially fluid on the tongue - your choice of sound devices makes me imagine this as suited to more solemn, ritualistic situations than the ordinary work day.
Somehow the last line sounds better to me with a 'the' in between 'of' and 'deep'?
Dwarves are fascinating.

Nice. It had the right feel of darkness and working heavy stone. :)

While it's creative and I can imagin Dwarves singing it, it doesn't rhyme. The point of singing while you work is usually to make the work go faster, and it's more fun to sing when there is more of a rhythm.
