I liked the mix of futuristic machinary with manual labour (there is just something about doing it ourselves that still calls to us), and "the bed" ... and I loved how she was hiding in the vent, and ... everything! It flowed very well.
The end was a surprise ... drags me to the next chapter (I will try to read that soon).

You kow there is evidence just such things happened in OUR past! There are myths in many different societies all around the globe about it! AND cities UNDER water off of Cuba, India, and japan! OLDER than Sumeria! The Vedas talk about wars of gods using high-tech! And there are ideas of 4 or 5 ages! Fascinating, really! Thre is a place where the desert has been turned to glass .. just like a kind of neutron bomb went off! i am not kidding.
